We track lightning all over the world. Even places where there’s no one to see the flash.

In conjunction with our partner TOA Systems, Inc., WSI’s three lightning networks monitor and gather data on a vast number of the estimated 8.6 million lightning strikes that occur globally each day. The United States Precision Lightning Network delivers a mean location accuracy of 250 meters and a detection efficiency of greater than 95% throughout the continental U.S. for cloud-to-ground lightning strokes. We also utilize the North American Precision Lightning Network to spread this precision detection to the rest of the continent. And with the recent addition of the Global Lightning Network, we are able to monitor conditions far and wide – from Europe to Asia and Australia.
