WSI metars and
tafs
| |
|
WSI InFlight provides access to METARs and TAFs for all reporting/issuing
stations in the US, including all military airports, as well as
Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. METARs are updated every 5 minutes;
TAFs are updated every 10 minutes. |
WSI cloud tops
|
|
WSI InFlight's satellite and cloud top information is based
on 8 km resolution IR satellite imagery, updated hourly. Height
estimates are derived from satellite observed cloud top temperature
values compared with numerical model based forecast vertical atmospheric
temperature profiles for the same time period. |
North America Winds/Temps Aloft
WSI InFlight wind and temperature aloft forecast
data are based on RUC (Rapid Update Cycle) model output data,
updated every hour. Each RUC model run incorporates the latest
available wind/temp PIREP information in addition to the latest
upper air observation data, thus providing highly accurate wind/temp
information. |
WSI Surface Analysis
|
WSI InFlight provides a surface analysis showing major synoptic
features (fronts, highs and lows, isobars), updated every three
hours. |
